The session will outline the journey, benefits and learnings of a company director and professional consulting partner, and feature two experienced professionals in this field - Branko Panich, Partner, Grant Thornton Consulting and George Simic, Director – Strategy, Growth and M&A, Surbana Jurong.

Branko Panich is a Partner in Grant Thornton’s Technology Advisory practice. Branko has extensive IT experience developed over 30+ years across all areas of technology management and consulting from IT strategy to digital transformation, application development, operations management, sales and outsourcing.
Branko has a proven track record of strong strategic leadership, effective stakeholder engagement and on-time, on budget program delivery. Branko has led business and technology transformation programs delivering up to 40% cost reductions, significant improvements in customer satisfaction, more efficient operations, improved staff engagement, and greater profitability. Branko has led the introduction of innovative digital technologies.
Branko has worked in Australia, USA, South Korea and New Zealand primarily in the financial services, government / defence and telecommunications sectors for a range of top-tier, global organisations where he has held senior executive positions, including:

George Simic is a Planner and Urban Designer by training with over 30 years’ experience in the Urban Development, Urban Regeneration and Housing markets, George currently leads global growth and expansion strategies for the Surbana Jurong Group. The SJ Group is a Singapore based global Urban Development, Infrastructure and Managed Services consulting market leader with 110+ offices in 40 countries and 16,000+ staff.
In his current role as Director Strategy, Growth and M&A, George is responsible for the Group’s Strategy Development, Growth planning and Mergers & Acquisitions programs throughout ANZ, Africa, Americas, and SAME.
George is a Director of SMEC Australia Pty Ltd and Robert Bird Group Pty Ltd both being Brand companies of the Surbana Jurong Group.
An engaging leader, George is a strong advocate for workplace diversity and has supported Women in Property and Young Professional Industry programs. With people being at the core of George’s leadership values, he has championed many programs to recognise and remunerate employees, foster stronger relationships with clients, and develop future leaders and graduates.
Branko and George will share insights and experiences as leaders with substantial experience and expertise in their respective industries. The session will be held in Melbourne, with our other chapters joining via video-conference. This will be an engaging and interactive session with the opportunity to field questions from the floor, in addition to networking drinks following the session.
